HAMRO GARDEN
For 11 years
HELP/Nepal has been committed in fighting inhuman poverty, which
deprives persons of their dignity and humanity, and in the promotion
of the rights of the poor, supporting the role of women, pointing
out the need to give them the right place in the society and in our
initiatives.
Children are
the real beneficiaries of the world and we have to commit ourselves
in giving them a better world and a better life, beginning from
their parental environment. HELP/Nepal wants to intervene with
actions that will have effects in the long period, taking care about
social, psychological and economic aspects that personally affect
the victims of violence, and organising event on local and national
level to make women aware of their rights and to make public opinion
more aware of these problems. We want to give a real help to the
victims of sexual violence assuring them physical safety, protection
in case of a legal proceeding, assistance and legal support during
the trial. HELP/Nepal wants to assure to the victims a future,
offering them the possibility to finish their studies and to enter
the labour market through vocational trainings and/or micro-credit
programmes.
For this
reason, “Hamro Garden” will move its first steps through a
major theatre event – V-Day – that will bring visibility at a
national level: acting as a cornerstone, thanks to the discussion
brought forward by the event, HELP/Nepal will take action to
reinforce the rights – violated for so many years – of women. In
fact, HELP/Nepal wants to establish in Kathmandu a Rehabilitation
and Advisory Centre for the victims of sexual abuses.
The centre
will assure medical cares, psychological treatments to overcome the
shock of the violence and also will support the victims’ families to
beat the mark of disgrace that society impose to victims. We will
commit ourselves so that “flowers of our garden” will find the well
being and the tranquillity lost, focusing on reaching their personal
goals.
The strength
of the social and cultural impact of our intervention will be
proportionate to the financial support received from our
partners-donors.
