ON THE STAGE

The play is structured by a series of monologues that cover a full spectrum of experiences women can have with their vaginas: dramatic stories and happy stories. The Monologues show us how complicated and difficult is be a woman and how, at the beginning, women are ashamed to speak about their vagina, but at the end, they enjoy speaking about it and they can’t stop speaking about it. The Monologues try to solve the crisis of social taboo attached to vaginas, capturing people's attention.

The Monologues have already caught the interest of hundred people of every age and sex, especially between young people that every day try to find the meaning and purpose of their lives. One of the key of such a success is also the appeal of talking about what, until now, was considerate “forbidden” subjects in a public setting.

Until now sex itself has been taboo for a long time, not many students have heard, or better wanted to spell the words “vagina,” “vulva,” or “clitoris” in public discourse but now, the possibility to put it on stage guarantees an high  level of interest among especially many college students. The word vagina is still a secret in today's society, but what the play and our young cast member tries to do in her performance is to get the word out there.
